Anda Anastasescu has received a distinguished decoration from the President of Romania for promoting Romanian classical music and for her services to British-Romanian cultural relations. Her two recent Wigmore Hall recitals received high praise, and established Silvestri as “a composer awaiting thorough investigation”. Silvestri’s BSO performances of Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody no. 1 became an international legend. In a well-balanced programme, Anda Anastasescu also performs the “Tempest” sonata by Beethoven, with Chopin represented by three waltzes and the Scherzo no.1. |
