The Pavão Quartet and Alison Farr have already performed separately for Bournemouth Chamber Music.

We welcome them together for an intriguing programme which combines established masterpieces by Haydn and Brahms with a rare opportunity to hear the piano quintet by Percy Whitlock, who spent the last 16 years or so of his life in Bournemouth, as organist at St Stephens Church and predominantly Bournemouth Pavilion.
Over the past decade the Pavão Quartet has established itself as a highly-regarded and versatile string quartet. In addition to a busy UK concert schedule, the Pavãos have performed widely in Europe and the Middle East.

Formed in 1998 at the Royal Academy of Music, they were twice awarded the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Prize and the John B. McEwen Prize. In 2003, they made their successful Purcell Room debut.

Poole-born Alison Farr won the piano section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1998. As a recitalist and chamber musician, she has performed at the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall and Chichester.
