We are proud to open our season with the top prize-winner of the 2008 Arthur Rubinstein Competition, the dazzling pianist Chin-Yung Hu from Taiwan. 

Her programme includes Schubert’s great penultimate piano sonata, four of Liszt’s astonishing Schubert Lieder transcriptions and the famous Rapsodie Espagnole, one of the most spectacular pieces in the piano repertoire.

Concert appearances in 2009 include California, New York (Alice Tully Hall), a tour of Israel, Poland, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Mapulto Festival in Mozambique, the Menton Festival in France, Taiwan and the Rachmaninoff Conference in Manchester.
